Marie Wise-Hawkins
Santa Clarita country music singer/songwriter Marie Wise-Hawkins is making her national television debut this Saturday on the Country Showdown Finals on KABC-7.
The Country Showdown Finals will air on channel 7 on Sunday, April 12 at 1 p.m.
Wise-Hawkins entered the Country Showdown, the world’s largest country music talent competition this past summer, and won the local, regional and state competitions on behalf of KHTS AM-1220.
She then traveled to Nashville with her band to compete against other rising country music stars at the Ryman Auditorium in November 2014.
Hawkins also performed on stage with country superstar LeAnn Rimes during the show.
Marie plays guitar, writes her own songs and enjoys performing a variety of concerts ranging from opera to country music, from classic rock to world music, from musical theatre to worship, and regularly appears at Community Festivals throughout Southern California, she told Stephen K. Peeples during a taping of SCVTV’s House Blend in 2014.
Tickets are on sale now for her appearance during the 2015 Cowboy Festival at Heritage Junction inside Hart Park.
The performance is hosted by the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society and will be held outdoors on Saturday, April 18 at 6 p.m. on the platform of the historic Saugus Train Station.
Admission prices for the event are $45 and include a barbecue chicken dinner and beer garden presented by Wolf Creek Restaurant and Brewing Company.
Tickets are available online now at cowboyfestival.org/saturday-april-18/.

May — Thank you!! God given .. and with Christ in her heart and soul!!
She is trespassing and putting her life at risk. 100’s of people die every month from walking or loitering around railroad tracks. SCVTV has reported their own share of these stories over the years. Shame on them for being ignorant here about the hazards. This is not profressional, not cool, nor a place to be playing around! This is no different than laying down in the middle of the #1 lane of I-5 and McBean for a photo. *oli.org* to learn about everyday life and the impacts train crews face after nailing trespasser.

The photo was not taken by SCVTV, the photo came from the artists web site.

Jason you are correct about the safety risks, and I won’t even get into the cliche photographing musicians on train tracks. That said, I’m pretty sure this photo was taken in Fillmore where the historic railway is, and, if I’m not mistaken, no trains are regularly passing through.

Also, it’s been reported that hundreds die yearly on railroad tracks, but hundreds per month sounds like a stretch.

Even if it is in Fillmore it is a terrible example….

Correct. It is the example and message she sends across the country to all who see her ad and follow her. This has been a national epidemic, and aparently the word is still not out.

As a fan of gorgeous women who are also country singers, I feel the need to sit on rail road tracks because of this photo.

Does everyone have to police everything everyone does…. Good grief!!!It’s a picture & there is no facts about where it was or wasn’t taken…
How about supporting a young musician!
Meanwhile, you can see her local TV debut on SCVTV Santa Clarita’s House Blend with Stephen K. Peeples right here! http://scvtv.com/?p=21657

All these posters are correct, my friend Martin McFly took my souped-up Delorean down the tracks in downtown Fillmore & we lost it to a passing freight train. Furthermore, the engineer of this train never stopped in full violation of ICC rules. I was unaware of any of this because I was having kids whilst inventing a time-traveling, flying steamtrain of my own but you get the idea. Plus C&W starlets on train tracks is a cliche but since there’s no Waffle Houses in the SCV Valley perhaps Saugus Speedway was a tasteful alternative
