Permanent solution to a temporary problem.
I hate this term!! As the one in darkness doesn’t realize this!! What’s SAD is no one can identify this cause everyone is too freakin busy to notice!! Pay attention to your loved one’s people!! How do I know? Cause I’m a strong one……I was in that darkness and no one knew!!!
As was I once…
Hugs Eric!!!
Your so right we need to pay more attention to our love ones.. God bless Terie
We are responsible for our behavior, our attitude, and our destiny.
Any attempt to put someone’s suicide on the backs of those around them is foolishness.
Breaks my heart. Go in peace brother. Sadly another one lost.
Very sad that he thought that was his only way out!
The signal said he was trying to beat the train.
I saw that too..so I guess its a suicide then and not an accident?
Maybe he changed his mind. Not in a rude way. Just saying.
very very sad … I live near those tracks …. ?
So sad. RIP and condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.
Is any one suprised by this?
:(
God bless him and his family
Sad he couldnt be strong anymore. In peace & in a better place.?
What a horrific way to go….sad.
I feel sag for him.
My heart goes out to the train engineer as well as the family of the deceaaed.
If that is supposed to make us start covering suicides, it is not going to work. Most of the time it is nobody’s business. We don’t cover suicides, period, with certain obvious exceptions. For instance, when someone makes it a public event by doing it in public and making unsuspecting members of the public kill him, it is in the public’s interest to know exactly what happened.
No the intent is not to stop coverage. Just have it done appropriately (and that includes comments). I’ve learned the hard way. I don’t want others being the idiot I used to be
Understood. If anybody needs a course in media law & ethics, maybe we can point them in the right direction. It’s really unfortunate there isn’t a better word than “suicide” in a case such as this. Suicide implies you do it yourself. Contrarily, this person had no regard for the passengers who were traumatized or the train conductor who has to live with the fact that he killed someone, even if he didn’t want to. This should not be called “suicide.”
That’s an excellent point. As a survivor of suicide loss myself, I know how I used to speak of such a choice & how, tragically, I learned the hard way how wrong I was especially in my speech.
But you’re correct, this type of act in the endangerment of the public…is something attention should be drawn to. It is a tight line to walk.
And if anyone needs help in life to avoid suicide, by all means please seek help.
Concerning suicide we’ve heard it said that “It’s a permanent solution to a temporary problem.”
Please think about that ppl.
Colleen Littlefield – We publish EVERY local nonprofit & agency press release that comes our way (including some of those you mention); if you have something specific in mind, please don’t hesitate to have them add us to their list if we’re not already on it.
Y would you commit suicide over your second D.U.I. It doesn’t make sense, a second d.u.i is nothing. What you lose your license for a year n then you have a breathalyzer in your car for a year or 18 months I believe it is from what I’ve heard.
And committing suicide is a sin, is it not?
so burn in hell for an eternity or handle your 2 D.U.I. I don’t believe it.
I believe maybe he thought he would beat the train,
who knows but him n the man upstairs
So you know the Bible does not address suicide anywhere.
It does not. Edward Lyons Jr but let me ask you this, killing is a what? A Sin
So killing yourself, would be???
A _________
You do not know what is going through a person’s head when he chooses to do something so tragic. I knew this individual and he had many problems going on at once….not just two dui’s. Don’t judge lest you be judged.
Damnation is God’s. Let the man and his family find peace.

Have you ever had a second DUI? I know two people who had their first with all the restrictions you pointed out. They both had licenses revoked for a year, both had a breath machine in their vehicles. So no. A second dui could be more than what you stated but still is no reason to commit an act of death.

Horrible that he made the conductor and all those on board involved in his death.
Vernon Peñaloza
No surprise here
I was there. He did not try to beat the train. As the Metrolink press release stated, he was in a non-pedestrian area when he was struck aka not a crosswalk or crossing. It’s a very sad feeling when someone dies right in front of you. Suicide should never be an option. R.I.P to another lost soul.
The DUI is irrelevant and not the reason he committed suicide. Something much more personal led him to commit both acts. From those of us who knew him personally, all I can say is, we all will miss you. RIP
David Wayne Krupin was my best friend for over 30 years. We are devastated to learn the news of his tragic death! Please know that David had been mentally ill for quite sometime and has made several attempts at committing suicide, but was unsuccessful. Depression is what killed my friend. He couldn’t get the help he needed, because the Insurance wouldn’t cover his treatment! Go figure! David was the kindest man, with a huge heart, and his love for animals was like no other. Please people, when you see the signs of depression, don’t ignore it! Keep your friends and family close to you, so that you recognize the signs of depression, before it happens to someone you love!
Richard, you say that you were there? If so, can we please talk in private?
