I think but not sure, but did they have cameras at any of these intersections? If so that might have the reason. Plus a person crossing could stop and stand on the median if traffic was a problem. But then hard for a person in a wheelchair.

And tell them to take out the no u turn sign at Newhall and boutique.
Good. Those were treacherous for my Mom crossing McBean at Decoro with a large walker. Had to lift the walker up onto it or get around it to make it across!
And whenever I rode my bike crossing it I would almost have to go around into oncoming traffic
Now if only the drivers can keep their cars out of the crosswalks, then things will be even better.

How about adding a sidewalk to walk on the hill of sand canyon?
For those wondering, I believe these were originally created to help direct cars into their proper lines at the beginning and end of the turn. They were guides. So while we may be helping out peds with their removal, the “weak” or day-dreaming driver may falter without the extra curbing. Maybe small cut-outs a few feet in, like at McBean and Newhall Ranch Rd, would have sufficed.

Why complain about why it’s there in the first place? This is very common to see. I remember when those medians were the only way to cross a busy street without getting killed by heavy traffic. If there was a signal at the intersection, there would also be a walk button on the median for those who couldn’t make it across in time. No, it was not ADA compliant – those laws didn’t exist back then. That is the point – they are fixing it “to meet the current ADA standards”, which is a very good thing.
Jason, how bout if people just learn how to drive?? They should need to be guided down the road.

Whomever is in charge of the street lights, lane painting and road work is seriously challenged. The light patterns are terrible and set up to stop traffic not keep it flowing.
This must be the same idiot who decided we needed more bike lanes and turned Decoro into one lane. That didnt last long either.
