MiaHammWorld Cup and Olympic champions Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly and Tisha Venturini-Hoch will team up with the Santa Clarita Blue Heat professional women’s soccer club to conduct a three-day training camp in Santa Clarita this December.

Carlos Marroquin, owner of Santa Clarita Blue Heat women’s soccer club and Soccer Planet in Downtown Newhall, says it took him two years to convince Mia Hamm to commit to the Santa Clarita soccer camps.

“She only goes to one town in California per year,” Morroquin said, “so this is huge for our community.”

Every camper will receive a Nike Soccer Ball, Nike Camp T-shirt and autographed card by Mia, Kristine and Tisha, according to the Soccer Academy’s website. In addition, every camper will have the opportunity to take a picture and receive an autograph from Mia, Kristine and Tisha on the last day of camp.

The camp is being held Friday, Dec. 11 through Sunday, Dec. 13, is coed, and for players aged 7-18.

Registration has already begun, and there are 60 plus people already signed up.

On Friday, the camp will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. at Santa Clarita Central Park, located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91350.

On Saturday and Sunday, the camp will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at The Master’s College, located at 21726 Placerita Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91321.
