I could only hope! My brother is in the Navy and in Guam. It is too expensive for us. It would be awesome to have businesses sponsor a military member.
You can ask local businesses to donate. If you get enough you can pay for someone else as well.

Other cities have one installation charge and the banners stay up until the service members are no longer serving.

our son graduated fort benning ga in January, he has been in Afghanistan since early February
we have messager with him often, but have not heard from him in about 3 weeks now, your in a family that will take care of its own, no matter the branch, just don’t be shy to reach out

I understand all you millitary moms, personally I had and still have a hard time with my son being gone. I have never discourage or encourage his decision, but I learned to respect it. My husband (Mike Bober) have always been sopportive of our boy decision. And he is right I vent my feelings out with my family. But it helps a lot to vent with other Moms as well.
My son’s childhood friend (Mom) and I try to get a group of millitary Moms together, but because of work schedule it fell through. If you Laddies wish we can start a Millitary Moms Club.
Where we can meet each other once a month to talk. Lunch, dinner, drinks, or coffee, ect. Nothing fancy just us venting with each other. Feel free to pm me and tell what you millitary moms think.
I thought about starting a fb page of some sort, just never looked into it. I’m in! It’s nice to talk to other military moms.

My mother in law is getting one for my husband and they’re charging about $550. The banner will be put up 3 times a year for two years. Wish it was free?

As a military mom, I agree this is so shameful that we as parents of military children have to pay so much for recognition of our heroes service! Donations from business should of taken the cost away!

I clicked love but have to say I am ashamed of our city for charging our heroes for these banners so many that wont get seen because their families cannot afford one. I just want to say thank you to every single one of you on a banner or not.

My daughter has been in for nearly 5 years, on her way to her second deployment. We’ve volunteered, helped, donated, like so many other proud military families…. And I can’t justify paying $400 to the city knowing what the actual cost is.
We will honor those who can, and even those who can’t afford to.
Sorry to here that. My daughter had a banner for her in Burbank. No cost to us & she received the banner when it was time to put up another service member. Very nice.

Those (grew up in SCV) who paid the ultimate price for this country, while serving, should get it for free and forever…. I know of at least 3 Army Soldiers that I grew up with that all died before the age of 25.
The gold star families do not have to pay, thankfully.

Id rather not have my face up for everyone to see. But I do agree, fallen Mil should not have to pay money for this.

So proud to see my sons banner up. Such a great way to show support for our military.
It would be interesting to know who the company was that printed the banners. Maybe in the future they could use it as a tax write off for a donation to print them for free or low cost and then city workers can donate time to place them during off hours.
