  1. Thank you! My hero banner is up.

  2. Angela Chu Angela Chu says:

Awesome idea! These banners should be up 365 days a year.

  3. Thank you for your service and the support you give our Military Santa Clarita. We should have a fund raiser so every service man and women from SC has one up there.

  4. So nice to see this done for our heroes. Thank you Santa Clarita. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw this. ????

  5. Other cities have one installation charge and the banners stay up until the service members are no longer serving.

  6. Samantha Graham-Tolmach

  7. This is such an honor. Its unfortunate that the families had to pay for the banners instead of the city.

  8. Love this! My son is in Army basic training as we speak. Hoping he never gets deployed because this momma can’t handle it even though I support him greatly! Thanks to all who serve!

  9. Rocky Arthur says:

Will there be a banner for Dean Todd Jr 3/25/83 – 8-31-04. Active duty. R.I.P. JR

  10. Now this is a great investment into santa clarita not some stupid red light violation lights

  11. I wish these and the flags can stay up year around

  12. Alana – Are we going to see one for Dylan?
    Love this!! ??

  15. Lisa Stacey Lisa Stacey says:

I clicked love but have to say I am ashamed of our city for charging our heroes for these banners so many that wont get seen because their families cannot afford one. I just want to say thank you to every single one of you on a banner or not.

  17. My daughter has been in for nearly 5 years, on her way to her second deployment. We’ve volunteered, helped, donated, like so many other proud military families…. And I can’t justify paying $400 to the city knowing what the actual cost is.
We will honor those who can, and even those who can’t afford to.

  18. How do you get the banners? I would love to get one for my husband.

  19. Those (grew up in SCV) who paid the ultimate price for this country, while serving, should get it for free and forever…. I know of at least 3 Army Soldiers that I grew up with that all died before the age of 25.

  20. Dan Spindler Dan Spindler says:

Very classy …give real respect were it is deserved ?

  21. I would love for Scott to have one. I’ve always appreciated seeing them in Simi Valley. I’m very surprised how pricey they are.

  22. Mary Lundie Mary Lundie says:

I was delighted to look up and see Andrew Ferguson on the first banner. Andrew is one of my all time favorite former students at Mountainview! Thanks for your service Andrew!??????????

  23. They are charging $417.50 plus tax!!!! Omg!!!! Way to go SCV!!

  24. Kathleen Herbert Randolph! Look who it is in the photo they used! So cool!

  25. Burbank had this program. My daughter was honored with a banner for her service in the Air Force. Thank you to All that have served!

  26. Anita Ruiz Anita Ruiz says:

Such an honor. But shame on you “CITY” for charging($500). How bout not wasting so much money and honor our hometown heroes for free. That’s the right thing to do. ?

  27. Allie Veltri Allie Veltri says:

I cried driving home from work the other day when I saw Ricky’s face on the memorial bridge- so many years since we’ve seen that handsome face. Rip. Thank you all for your service.

  28. Love it!!!!! What a great idea!!!!! Warms my heart every time I drive past our Hero Banners!!!! Reminds me to pray for each of them!!!! Bless you all!!!!

  29. Azusa has this program about 11 years ago.

  30. Id rather not have my face up for everyone to see. But I do agree, fallen Mil should not have to pay money for this.

  31. Jessie Tyler Jessie Tyler says:

I saw some of them, great idea!

  32. I saw those yesterday on the bridge ?

  33. Kathy Lockhart says:

So proud to see my sons banner up. Such a great way to show support for our military.

  34. Lisa Stacey Lisa Stacey says:

It would be interesting to know who the company was that printed the banners. Maybe in the future they could use it as a tax write off for a donation to print them for free or low cost and then city workers can donate time to place them during off hours.

  35. Lori Curry Lori Curry says:

That’s great they are being honored but really sad that the families have to pay for it and if they don’t they don’t get recognized. How horrible. Thank you for your service!!

  36. Janet Eminian says:

Check out how the City of Simi Valley has structured the fundraising for their military flag program: The Military Banner Program was initiated by the City of Simi Valley to honor and recognize Simi Valley’s military personnel. Banners are placed on street light poles throughout the City.

This program is funded through donations from the community, which enable the purchase of the banners. The City has partnered with the Simi Valley Community Foundation, and donations for the banners are being accepted.
