Mustang junior Benjamin Tembo was named a third-team National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-American this week after leading the Golden State Athletic Conference in every offensive category including game-winning goals with six.
Only one other Mustang since 2000 scored more goals in a season than Tembo’s 17 (Anthon Brueggeman, 22 in 2001). Tembo finished with 42 points.
“We are thrilled that Benji was recognized for a tremendous year,” said coach Jim Rickard.
Tembo tied for the conference’s lead in assists with eight en route to earning GSAC Player of the Year. He was also recognized as an NAIA Academic All-American.
