With the upcoming retirement of Cynthia Seamands, principal of Live Oak Elementary, there will be some administrative changes for the 2018-19 school year. Effective July 1, 2018, Stephanie Beach, principal of Castaic Elementary School, will assume the duties of principal of Live Oak Elementary School.

The District will seek candidates to fill the principal vacancy at Castaic Elementary School through a comprehensive statewide search. We want to sincerely thank Mrs. Seamands for her years of dedication to the students of Castaic Union School District and we wish her well in her retirement.

Mrs. Beach has been on staff with the Castaic Union School District since August, 2000 when she began her career as a 5th grade teacher at Castaic Middle School. Mrs. Beach also taught 3rd grade at Live Oak Elementary School, before returning to Castaic Middle School in 2011, where she served as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) and as Acting Assistant Principal from 2012 to 2014.

She was then appointed Assistant Principal in 2014. Mrs. Beach served as the Administrator on Special Assignment at the district office, until she was appointed as Principal at Castaic Elementary School in April, 2016.

During her tenure as principal at Castaic Elementary School, Mrs. Beach has enhanced a family-friendly culture with a focus on technology and STEM activities. She has also been successful in securing funding resources to support programs that had been canceled due to a lack of financial support. Mrs. Beach is very knowledgeable in all areas of instructional technology and 21st Century Learning. She is a GATE certified teacher and is a CUSD English Language Development Administrator.

We are confident that her experience and the relationships she has established with the staff and community will be an asset to her and the students in her new role as principal at Live Oak Elementary School.
