Former shelter pets Lennon and Freeda were rescued and adopted from the Baldwin Hills and Castaic shelters, respectively, and are loving life in Santa Clarita.

More than 1,200 shelter pets at the seven Los Angeles County Animal Care Centers will be ready for their close-ups on Saturday, July 13, when the largest one-day photo shoot of pets in shelters happens from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The first-ever “Seen = Saved” Adoption Event will bring together 200 photographers from around the country to give exposure to all the shelter pets that are available for adoption. Thanks to generous support from The Petco Foundation and BOBS from Sketchers, adoption fees will be waived this weekend.

Photographers will be creating profiles of every pet with photos, videos and a personal bio and posting them on SeenEqualsSaved.com.

LA County Animal Care & Control is the largest animal control agency in the country, taking in more than 70,000 animals each year at seven animal care centers.

The seven Animal Care Centers include:

The “Seen = Saved” Adoption Event is a collaboration between Los Angeles County Animal Care & Control, Shelter Me, HeARTs Speak, Rita Earl Photography, Petco Foundation and BOBS from Skechers.

My Dad is on about 1 1/2 acre. We would love to help with taking animals in. The thing that is sad is that these animals need a home and we can give them that but the law stops use because there is a limit on how many you can have. It would be hard for use to adopt them give them away to a good home when they have one here. My dad and I both love animals and would love to help. If you know of a way please let us know. We have 5 dog runs. We will pay extra for dog runs if needed.
