3-Dimentional Art Class Begins

Kids were surprised and pleased to discover their first 3D class was one in which they told stories using facial expressions, gestures and movement. Led by ARTree instructor, Noel Bermudez.

Jeudi Cornejo Brealey inspired us with ways to encourage an artful family life, while maintaining and nurturing a personal artistic career. Keep up with her musings and upcoming cabaret shows here.

Spend an evening with this award winning animation director for a lively discussion on the challenges of bringing ideas to reality. And, before you hear Gutierrez tell how he got from Mexico to Hollywood (via CalArts), see his lively, colorful and much acclaimed animated film. Come for the film, the talk, or both.

Please note location change for this month only. Thursday, April 23 at the Newhall Community Center. A screening of the film, “The Book of Life” will begin at 4:30pm, and his talk will begin at 6:30pm.

New Drop-In Class for Adults

Learning a new skill. Creating something beautiful. Self-expression. Intense concentration. These are experiences that bring relaxation and renewal into our stressful lives.

ARTree is pleased to announce a new drop-in class for adults, held every 4th Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm, at the Old Town Newhall Library. The “Relax and Craft” sessions will provide free instruction and materials to spend an hour engaged in creativity.

ARTree’s Relax and Craft project for this month is image transfers onto stone. Taking inkjet printed photographs, see how to transfer them onto stones for a lovely, painterly effect.  Wednesday, April 22nd at 6:30 – 7:30pm at the Old Town Newhall Library.

Other Events

Earth Arbor Day Celebration at Central Park on April 11th from 10-4pm. Look for ARTree’s banner – we’ll be there, artistically reusing and recycling.

Tween Drop-In Art Class will have its last session before summer break on May 1st from 3-4:30pm at the Old Town Newhall Library. Teens and tweens –Put away those electronics, and reap the rewards of creative thinking!

ArtSlam on Main Street returns the evening of May 7th. Our booth will be featuring pattern-making stamps made from vegetables!
