Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information
Snapshot for the week of 07/28/2014 to 08/03/2014

Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Zone 5 (Valencia).

An assault with a deadly weapon (rock, flashlight) occurred near the 23000 block of cinema Drive. A male and a female began to argue with another couple. The argument became heated on both sides. The two suspects armed themselves with a rock and flashlight and began to attack the victims. The victims were able to escape and called the sheriff’s station. Santa Clarita Station patrol deputies arrived on scene and quickly apprehended both suspects without incident.

A robbery occurred near the 26400 block of McBean Parkway. A male suspect began to fight with security after he was caught stealing. The suspect was ultimately arrested by Santa Clarita Station personnel.

A second robbery occurred near the area of McBean Parkway and Decoro Drive. A male suspect kept the victim’s phone from him against his will. This case is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detective Bureau.

An attempted vehicle theft occurred near the 25500 block of Avenue Stanford. An unknown suspect smashed the victim’s passenger side window of his vehicle. The suspect attempted numerous times to try and start the vehicle but was unsuccessful. The vehicle was left at the location.

A vehicle burglary occurred neat the 24000 block of Town Center drive. An unknown suspect broke into the victim’s vehicle while it was parked overnight. The victim had numerous electronic items stolen from inside the vehicle.

A theft occurred near the 25800 block of Tournament Road. Two suspects walked into the location and distracted the victim once inside the location. As one suspect was talking to the victim, the second suspect stole the victim’s purse from behind the counter. This case is currently being investigated by our Detective Bureau.

A theft occurred near the 28000 block of Anvil Court. The victim had several workers at her residence doing upgrades to her residence. After the work was completed the victim realized her iPad was missing.

A theft occurred near the 26400 block of Bouquet Canyon Road. A female customer used the restroom at the location. While inside she removed her rings, so she could wash her hands. She turned around to dry off her hands. When she turned back around her rings were gone. She was unable to locate anyone inside the restroom with her.

A bicycle theft occurred from the area of Valencia Boulevard and Creekside Drive. The victim placed his bicycle along the fence at the location. The victim secured his bicycle to the fence using a solid chain. When the victim returned sometime later he noticed his bike was gone along with his chain and the fence was cut.

As a whole we are doing very well for Zone 5 (Valencia). We can tie up a few loose ends to help our community become a safer place to live. As a reminder, please do not leave valuables in plain view in your vehicles. Many incidents can be avoided if you take the time to ensure your vehicles are secure and your property is properly stored. A safe and secure place, and always a great bet is your trunk. Always double check your windows and doors at night before going to bed. I know it has been getting cooler at night, but please lock your lower level windows before bed time. As the weather gets hotter and you travel with your pets, please remember to never leave your animal unattended in your vehicle in this hot weather. It can become extremely dangerous and deadly. Always remember your safety is number one, and keeping your family safe is my number one priority. Thank you for your continued efforts in keeping your neighbors safe and helping your Zone on a daily basis.

As always, please feel free to call or email me.
