Castaic/ Val Verde Crime Prevention and Public Safety Information for the week of 01/18/16 – 01/24/16
The following crimes were reported in Castaic/Val Verde last week:
A commercial burglary was reported from the 28000 block of Avenue Penn. The victim reported several pallets of cosmetic merchandise valued at $250,000 were stolen from the warehouse. Suspect(s) gained entry by cutting a hole in the roof.
There were multiple thefts reported from motorhomes.The RVs were located in the 31000 block of Diamond Lane, 27000 block of Onyx Lane and on Calcite Court. All of the vehicles had signs of forced entry. Among the items targeted were electronic devices, microwaves and food.
A theft from a vehicle was reported from the 31000 block of Ridge Route Road. The victim reported a computer tablet, electronic game system and miscellaneous tools were taken from an unlocked vehicle.
A theft from a vehicle was reported from the 31000 block of Quartz Lane. The victim reported a cosmetic bag, backpack and medicine were stolen from a locked vehicle.
Please remember to never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity. If you see any suspicious activity, call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
