U.S. Border Patrol agents on Interstate 5 intercepted a shuttle driver Tuesday who had bundles of methamphetamine and cocaine stashed on top of his van.
At approximately 4 p.m., Border Patrol agents at the Interstate 5 checkpoint stopped a white Ford Econoline passenger van for an immigration check. The 46-year-old U.S. citizen driver and his passengers disembarked and unloaded their luggage and a spare tire from the roof rack. A cursory K-9 inspection produced a positive alert to the spare tire and agents discovered 20 bundles of narcotics stuffed inside.Agents discovered 20 bundles of narcotics inside a spare tire.
Eighteen bundles were filled with methamphetamine and weighed 37.37 pounds. Two bundles were filled with cocaine and weighed 9.59 pounds. The 20 bundles have an estimated street value of $527,140.
Agents arrested the driver and turned him and the narcotics over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Last fiscal year, the San Diego Sector intercepted 1,797 pounds of methamphetamine and 1,697 pounds of cocaine, which was an increase of 43.7 percent and 105 percent, respectively, from the prior year.

I grew up in scv, you’re kidding yourself if you think it’s any better. The difference is that in van Nuys and arleta there are less functioning addicts. Scv has just as much, only smarter users that don’t get caught up as often.

Who ever said that SCV doesnt have as many junkies is in delusion land. LOL, I re up on the westside and let me tell you there are as many junkies here as there. Heroin and meth addiction is runnin rampant, especially here. Why do you think Murder, suicide and crime is up? Half the families my kids went to school with have a child in rehab for heroin addiction, thats being conservative. I think you need to take yourself to the ER one niht and see how many OD’s come in.
