Doug Bryce
Saugus Union School Board member Doug Bryce announced this week that he will be resigning from his position effective Sept. 30 due to a new career opportunity he has accepted in the San Diego area.
Bryce has served as a Governing Board Trustee for the Saugus Union School District for more than 14 years. He stated that he has enjoyed working with all the trustees, cabinet, administrators, teachers, classified and the superintendent. His children attended district schools for their elementary education and his wife, Robin, worked for the district for 20 years as an instructional assistant.
Doug Bryce was instrumental in the formation of the district’s Communication Committee and the ongoing development of Saugus Union’s Communications Plan to expand and improve the district’s communication efforts with district and community stakeholders.
Paul De La Cerda, the SUSD Governing Board President, said: “Doug has been a consistent and integral part of the Governing Board, his dedicated service has contributed to the district’s growth and success. He is a treasured friend of the Saugus Union School District and he will be missed.”
A timeline for filling the pending Governing Board vacancy is being developed. The Governing Board will host a reception in Doug Bryce’s honor at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Saugus Union School District’s Education Center, 24930 Avenue Stanford, Santa Clarita, CA 91355.
