[KHTS] – There has been a little shake-up in the CIF Southern Section Northern Division football rankings.
Canyon and West Ranch moved up. Valencia was knocked down a few notches.
The Hart football team remained the No. 1 team in the Northern Division for the fourth week in a row. The Indians had a bye last week and play Ridgeview, the No. 4 ranked team in the CIF Central Section Division 3 poll, on Friday night.
Canyon moved up to No. 2 in the Northern Division rankings. The Cowboys also had a bye last week and play Quartz Hill at home on Friday night.
Valencia dropped to No. 5 after losing to Chaminade. The Vikings are on the road against Righetti on Friday.
West Ranch moved up to No. 6 in the Northern Division after a narrow, 20-13, win over Knight. The Wildcats play Thousand Oaks at Valencia High School on Friday night.
The Trinity Classical Academy football team is ranked in the Southern Section Division 2 8-man poll. The Knights are No. 2 despite losing to Mojave last week.
In cross country, the College of the Canyons men finished in fourth place in the Southern California preview meet at Central Park.
Saugus High graduate Rodrigo Ornelas finished fourth overall in 21 minutes, 12.75 seconds, for COC in the race.
The COC women finished in seventh place at the meet. Dominique Dowell was the top-finishing runner for COC in the 5K race. She was 23rd in 20 minutes, 32.94 seconds.
In baseball, the Dodgers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks, 2-1. The Dodgers have lost four games in a row and their magic number to clinch the National League West championship remains at four.
