The City of Santa Clarita is the recipient of the 2013 National Association of Government Web Professionals Pinnacle Award and Member’s Choice Award for its “Microsite/Special Site Feature for VisitSantaClarita.com” as announced Thursday, Sept. 26, at the annual national conference held this year in Louisville, Ky.
VisitSantaClarita.com functions as a supplementary site to the City’s main website Santa-Clarita.com and showcases places to stay, entertainment, events, shopping, dining, and other tourism related interests.
The Pinnacle Awards represent the best in government websites from among National Association of Government Web Professionals (NAGW) members based on team size, content, organization, design, performance and flexibility, accessibility standards, and interactivity. The Member’s Choice Awards are voted by NAGW membership from among the top three judged entries in each category.
“Website design is about more than building a site that’s nice to look at; sites need to be a one-stop shop with comprehensive, engaging information,” said Mayor Bob Kellar. “We’ve worked hard to make the VisitSantaClarita.com website interesting, informative and engaging and it’s a real honor to take home these awards from some of the best in the public sector.”
NAGW is a national association of government Web Professionals working together to share knowledge, ideas and other resources. Since its inception in 2006, NAGW members collaborate on technologies and network with other professionals to improve the capacity to provide value across the web to various member communities.
