NORTHRIDGE – CSUN Director of Athletics Mike Izzi has announced the hiring of Bob Alejo as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Performance and Student-Athlete Welfare. Alejo will have oversight of strength and conditioning, sports medicine, sports nutrition and sports psychology.
“I am looking forward to the knowledge, energy and vision Bob will bring to CSUN as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Performance and Student-Athlete Welfare,” said Izzi. “He is truly one of the elite minds in the Strength and Conditioning field and will help take all of our programs to the next level.”

“Mike Izzi has put forth a tremendous amount of effort assembling a deep, knowledgeable and effective senior staff,” said Alejo. “Along those lines, Mr. Izzi’s vision for my position is an innovation with great foresight that clearly has been a needed component for comprehensive student-athlete performance and welfare at the collegiate level. To be included in this staff is both flattering and exciting!”
A graduate of Chico State University, Alejo also served as the strength and conditioning coach for the men’s beach volleyball team of Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser at the Olympic Games in Beijing (2008) and London (2012).
