The Bridge to Home Emergency Winter Shelter will hold an open house Sunday to raise donations of needed items for the winter season. Among the items sought are: 45 gallon trash bags, foam bowls, large and medium gloves, foam cups, paper towels, napkins, powdered coffee creamer, hot chocolate and disposable forks and spoons. Cash donations are also welcome and a “Change for Change” collection will be held.
The public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served in the Shelter’s dining hall.
Bridge to Home was founded in 1996 to provide shelter to the homeless residents of the Santa Clarita Valley during the winter months. The goals of Bridge to Home include the relocation of the temporary Shelter to a permanent location and further expansion of services that will provide comprehensive care, including: medical help, mental health assistance, job resources and placement, case management and access to affordable housing. The SCV’s homeless population continues to expand and Bridge to Home is dedicated to assisting those in need.
The Bridge to Home Emergency Winter Shelter is open Nov. 24 to March 15 for the 2014-2015 winter season.
Open House at the Bridge to Home Emergency Winter Shelter, 23031 Drayton St., Santa Clarita will be held 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7.
