Max Muncy to participate in Home Run Derby
The Dodgers’ versatile home run leader Max Muncy has powered his way into the T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday, July 16 at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. Muncy is the #3 seed and will face off against Chicago Cubs second baseman Javier Báez, who is the #6 seed.
Muncy has proven that he belongs among the game’s top power hitters, ranking fourth in the National League with 21 home runs while averaging a homer every 9.81 at-bats, which leads the Majors (min. 200 PA). The 27-year-old has accomplished all this despite only making his Dodger debut on April 17, and became the fastest Dodger ever to reach 20 home runs in a season, needing only 183 at-bats. Muncy also ranks among the NL’s best in on-base percentage (.412, 2nd), slugging percentage (.617, 2nd) and OPS (1.029, 1st).
Fans can tune in to the 2018 T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday, July 16 at 5:00 p.m. PT live on ESPN.
