Washington — Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement Thursday after Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke completed his review of 27 national monuments, including the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and six others in California:

“Since the review was announced, I’ve called on the administration to leave our national monuments untouched. California will fight any attempt by President Trump to eliminate protected parkland.

“Today, we learned that Secretary Zinke in his report to the president has proposed changing a ‘handful’ of the monuments under review. Unfortunately, he’s keeping the details of that decision secret, providing nothing more than a brief report summary that fails to name the monuments he suggests cutting.

“The American people have the right to see his entire report. A proposal to strip protections from public lands should be made public immediately.”

Our national parks are very sacred to most Americans. These lands need to be protected for the future of all our children and future generations.
Everything living creature deserves to have a place to roam and live.
I am appalled at what our leaders of this nation are doing in the name of ninety and greed.
