Nineteen classified employees from across the district have been recognized by the Hart School District Governing Board at the regularly scheduled Oct. 1, 2014 school board meeting. The honorees were selected by their colleagues at each school site and the administrative center.
Honorees include: Judi Miller, campus supervisor, Academy of the Canyons; Mike Miller, lead warehouse worker, administrative center; Judy Munson, instructional assistant / office assistant I, Arroyo Seco Junior High School; Emily Frey, office assistant I, Bowman High School; Chris Liedblad, secretary, Canyon High School; Ulla Lindberg-Rincon, career transition advisor, Career Visions Center; Kathryn Weber, program specialist, Golden Oak Adult School; Josie Gonzalez, office assistant I, Golden Valley High School; Josy Block, office assistant II, Hart @ Home; Bryan Martuscello, campus supervisor, Hart High School; John Settimo, custodian, La Mesa Junior High School; Joe Willard, lead campus supervisor, Placerita Junior High School; Shawn Bruins, groundskeeper, Rancho Pico Junior High School; Julie Harris, campus supervisor, Rio Norte Junior High School; Susie Warne, student body account technician, Saugus High School; Kristin Randall, instructional assistant – moderate / severe, Sequoia Charter School; Sandy Kuhn, secretary, Sierra Vista Junior High School; Tito Alarcon, custodian, Valencia High School and Juan Lopez Juarez, lead campus supervisor, West Ranch High School.
Classified staff members are non-credentialed employees who provide everyday support to the district’s students, teachers and administrators. They include secretaries and clerical staff, maintenance and custodial staff, computer technicians, campus supervisors, instructional assistants and more.
“These honorees were selected by their school or department for their outstanding service, hard work and commitment to the community, students and staff of our district,” explained Terri Shiner, director of classified personnel. “Through their invaluable contributions and specialized services, they provide instructional, technical, and administrative support, as well as a safe and healthy environment in which to work and learn.”
All of the district’s Teachers of the Year and Classified Employees of the Year will be honored at a luncheon this fall, in addition to the Governing Board recognition. Their portraits will be on display in the district’s Administrative Center for the 2014-15 school year.
