To better assist high school seniors with the transition to collegiate life, College of the Canyons will offer information nights on Jan. 15 and 16 at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center and at Canyon High School on Thursday, Jan. 17.
The information nights will provide prospective students and their families with information regarding admissions, how to earn priority registration, and other key student support programs and services including the college’s First-Year Promise program, which gives incoming students the opportunity to attend COC for free during their first year.
“Information Nights are incredibly helpful for students planning to enroll for fall 2019 and their families so they can become familiar with the various educational opportunities and support services offered by the college, including our First-Year Promise program, and important dates to ensure early registration,” said Kari Soffa, director of Outreach and School Relations at the college.
The presentations will review the various educational pathways available to students including transfer preparation, associate degrees and certificates, and the First-Year Promise program.
Spanish presentations will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16 in Canyons Hall, Room 201 and on Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Canyon High School Library.
Additionally, three information nights will be held for high school students who would like to learn about the college’s special admissions program, College NOW! and the new dual enrollment program that allows high school students to enroll in college classes and have their tuition waived.
