This year, a new event will premiere at the LA SummerFEST at Rivendale in Towsley Canyon: The Latin Music & Cultural Festival.
Coming Saturday, July 11, the new festival will feature music, dancing, cultural performances, local vendors, food trucks and a beer garden.
“Each year we try to add something new to the festival,” said festival producer David Stears, executive director of the Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival. “We are very excited for this one-day festival.”
The new Latin Music & Cultural Festival will take place from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., free and family friendly. There will be food trucks, arts, crafts and performances throughout the day, including: Ballet Folklorico Santa Clarita, a new theatre production from CREZCA Teatro, Dance Lessons from D’Wilfri DanceArt and Entertainment, a Son Jarocho performance, and dancing with the East LA Band Buyepongo. Co-Chair for the event is Amber Martinez, Executive Director of De Mi Suenos Cultural Arts Program.
The LA SummerFEST, celebrates it third year this summer. The festival is an eclectic summer cultural festival of music, theatre, and special events. Presented at the Rivendale site in Towsley Canyon, the festival includes an folk concert, blues music, Shakespeare in the Park, an evening of Broadway songs, a singer wongwriter evening, a night of opera, jazz under the stars, and an evening of praise music. The LA SummerFEST also works with local organizations including SCV Youth Orchestra, De Mi Suenos Cultural Arts , Center Stage Opera, the SCV Blues Society, members of our faith community, and hundreds of musicians and local performers. The festival events are free and family friendly.

The SummerFEST Village, a vendor fair of crafts, artisans, food and workshops. The SummerFEST village will be set up on four of the days during the summer: for the Latin Music and Cultural Festival (July 11th); the Americana FOLKFest (July 12th); The REN-FEST (July 18th); and the BluesFEST (August 1st). Booths are available for vendors and event sponsors.
