Here are agenda highlights for the next meeting of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, set for Tuesday, July 18, starting at 9:30 a.m.:

Don Guerrero recognized for his father Lalo Guerrero’s contributions as the “Father of Chicano Music.”
Supervisors Solis and Kuehl instruct the Directors of Health Services and the Labor Unions, to create a mechanism for querying information regarding County-employed physicians and to further improve diversity and inclusion of the County’s physician pool by expanding the pipeline for culturally and linguistically competent physicians. (Item 2)
Supervisor Ridley-Thomas recommends the submission of an application to the Regional Park and Open Space District for an amount not to exceed $22,023,000 in Proposition A grant funds towards upgraded recreational, open space, and cultural amenities across the 126 acres of land in unincorporated Willowbrook. (Item 4)
Supervisor Ridley-Thomas requests an extension of a $10,000 reward offered for information leading to the apprehension and/or conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of 22-year-old Kejon (Wayne) Atkins, who was fatally shot in the unincorporated area of Willowbrook on July 23, 2015. (Item 5)
Supervisor Ridley-Thomas requests a reestablishment of a $10,000 reward offered for information leading to the apprehension and/or conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of 15-year-old Mark Tyree II, who was fatally shot in the unincorporated Westmont area on June 26, 2016. (Item 6)
Supervisors Kuehl and Solis recommend a two-year extensive water education and outreach program, provide assistance with development of the Stormwater Capture Expenditure Plan and implement a collaborative stakeholder engagement process for the proposed Water Resilience Plan designed to increase drought preparedness and local water self-reliance. (Item 10)
Supervisors Hahn and Kuehl instruct the Commission for Children and Families to convene a work group comprised of multiple County departments, agencies and current/former foster youth to create a proposed communication plan that utilizes web and print mediums to ensure that all current and future foster youth, resource parents, and social workers receive the Foster Youth Bill of Rights and Services. (Item 11)
Recommendation to approve and authorize Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission Management Agreement of 2013 to increase the number of voting members from three to six. (Item 15)
Recommendation to authorize the Director of Internal Services to execute an amendment to a contract for the continued provision of vehicle fleet maintenance and repair services, remove the current expenditure cap and authorize anticipated one-year expenditures for approximately $12,900,000. (Item 19)
Authorization sought for the Registrar-Recorder to extend multiple agreements for continued voter-related services until the implementation of the Department’s Voting System Assessment Project. (Items 20, 21, 22 and 23)
Recommendation for the approval of a Los Angeles Workforce Development plan which outlines the development of a skilled workforce that meets the needs of businesses and the creation of pathways to the middle class for the Region’s residents. (Item 24)
Authorization sought for the Director of Mental Health to execute an agreement with LA Care Health Plan (LA Care) to allow the Department of Mental Health to provide specialty mental health consultation services to LA Care’s primary care providers. (Item 26)
Recommendation to establish the Pitchess Water Infrastructure Improvements Project, approve an appropriation adjustment to transfer $7,900,000 from the Extraordinary Maintenance Budget to the project and to execute a consultant services agreement to provide general engineering support services for an amount not to exceed $2,000,000. (Item 33)
Recommendation for the installation of the Class II bicycle route for the Charter Oak Bikeway Access Improvements Project for an estimated construction contract total between $1,200,000 and $1,600,000. (Item 34)
Authorization sought for the Director of Public Works to execute consultant services contracts to provide as-needed building and safety inspection, permit technician and related services for construction projects within the County’s jurisdictional area for a three-year term and a total aggregate amount not to exceed $12,000,000. (Item 36)
Approval sought for 20 roadway pavement preservation and parkway concrete repair projects at an estimated aggregate amount not to exceed $25,880,600 with funding from the state of California’s Road Maintenance Program. (Item 38)
The Claim’s Board recommends a settlement for a wrongful death lawsuit concerning allegations of excessive force during a vehicle pursuit where a Plaintiff was shot while he fled from Sheriff’s Deputies. (Item 48)
