The United States Marine Corps will be at the Valencia Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Thursday, June 23 to talk to the community about the Support at Home campaign.

Santa Clarita residents who thrive on their morning cup of joe can now through Friday, July 10 satisfy their craving while making a difference in a soldier and their family’s life.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® annual Support at Home campaign will donate $1 to Operation Homefront – for every special 12 oz. Support at Home Ground Coffee or 20-count Support at Home Tea Tin sold in store and online. Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit that builds strong, stable and secure military families so they can thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.

“This is our time to give back to the men and women who so bravely serve our country and protect what we all hold dear,” said Corey Curties, general manager, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Valencia. “From now till Friday, July 10, we will be asking our guests and our friends in the community to donate a bag of coffee or tea tin to Operation Homefront.”

Recently named The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s General Manager of the Year, Corey Curties is a longtime resident of Santa Clarita and realizes how important involving the community is when operating a small business.

“This campaign touches each and every one of us,” he said. “Participating in Support at Home makes contributing to Operation Homefront accessible and uncomplicated for our customers, and supporting our troops and their families is absolutely unassailable.”

Last year Curties and his team collected 800 bags of coffee and tea. This year, with the help of the residents of Santa Clarita, their they are hoping to reach their goal of 1000 bags.

On Thursday, June 23 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Santa Clarita residents are invited out to spend their afternoon with soldiers from the United States Marine Corp. who will be on-hand to encourage guest participation, answer questions, tell their stories and express their gratitude.
