Your Hometown Station, AM-1220 KHTS, is partnering with SCVTV, Santa Clarita’s only local television channel, to simulcast high school football beginning with the Royal vs. Golden Valley game on Friday, Sept. 5.
Fans will get to listen to the game live on AM-1220 KHTS, and watch the same-day telecast on SCVTV beginning at 11 o’clock Friday night.
“This is just one of many partnerships we continue to have with SCVTV and we are just thrilled with the relationship,” said Carl Goldman, co-owner of KHTS. “This strengthens both of our content and is a win for our audience.”
Barry McKeever will handle the play-by-play with former Canyon Cowboys coach Chris Varner as color analyst. Dave Caldwell will be calling games on Fox Sports West this fall, but will continue on as Sports Director at SCVTV.
“Both SCVTV and KHTS have been wanting to make this happen for quite some time now,” Caldwell said. “The fan base is huge in Santa Clarita for high school football and this simulcast gives those fans a unique opportunity to connect with the games.”
SCVTV will begin it’s same-day broadcasts at 11 pm on Friday, August 29, when the Simi Valley Pioneers take on the Saugus Centurions. Every game will be replayed every day of the week.
Games will also be archived on SCVTV.com/sports, where fans can also watch features such as the Student Athlete of the Week and marching band halftime shows. SCVTV can be found on Time Warner Cable Channel 20, AT&T U-Verse channel 99 and live streaming on SCVTV.com.
