U.S. Rep. Steve Knight will participate in a F-35 Lightning II cockpit demonstrator event.
Knight (R-Antelope Valley), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, will attend an event with Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Lightning II interactive cockpit demonstrator on Thursday, May 7, at FMI in Valencia.
Knight will speak with reporters, employees, state and local elected officials and other stakeholders and will have the opportunity to “fly” the cockpit demonstrator. During the event, Lockheed Martin and FMI officials will highlight the F-35’s role in protecting national security and the program’s economic impact across the U.S. and within California.
FMI provides a multitude of structural parts for the F-35.
The F-35 cockpit demonstrator simulates the fighter aircraft’s advanced technologies and combat capabilities in an interactive environment.
The F-35 Lightning II is the world’s most advanced military aircraft and for more than a decade, the U.S. and its allies have invested in developing this fifth-generation international, multirole fighter aircraft that will serve as a cornerstone of global security in the 21st century.
