More Concerts, Shakespeare, & Partnerships

This week the, LA SummerFEST is announcing the 2015 season!  Mark your calendars, gather the family, pack a picnic, and make a plan to get to the Rivendale site in Towsley Canyon.  The LA SummerFEST is the fastest growing cultural festival in LA County, and this year promises to be great fun, and including new events, new community partners, and the premieres of new work.

This year we are partnering with 8 local and regional organizations to bring a unique family summer cultural festival.  Our community partners include: De Mi Suenos Cultural Arts Program, Leslie Barra, David Veal, Santa Clarita Youth Orchestra, CREZCA TEATRO, City of Santa Clarita, Center Stage Opera, members of our local faith community, SCV Blues Society, Santa Clarita Valley Quilters Guild.  And still more to come.

The LA SummerFEST 2015 is an eclectic season of family entertainment and cultural performances.  Most of our event are FREE (though donations are greatly appreciated). There is something for everyone, and some surprises are in the works… Don’t miss it!

Opening Gala / Lord Chamberlain Induction             Friday July 10th
Opening Night Dinner and Gala honoring a special arts patron in our community. Dinner, wine, dessert and preview of some of the summer’s events.  Proceeds support the Apprentice Program summer scholarship.  More details to follow….

Latin Music and Cultural Festival                                  Saturday July 11th
in association with De Mi Suenos Cultural Arts Program.  Music, cultural performances, dancing, arts & crafts, food trucks, family fun.  Includes the premiere work by CREZCA TEATRO.

AmericanaFOLKFest                                                              Sunday July 12th
Music, cultural performances, dancing, arts & crafts, food trucks, family fun, and quilt show.

RENFest and Opening of Shakespeare in the Park    Saturday July 18th
Food, craft vendors & artisans, demonstrations and performances.  Opening night for 12th Night the MusicalShakespeare meets the Indy Rock Scene. 
Also performing July 19, 25, 26, August 15 & 16

Santa Clarita Youth Orchestra Under the Stars           Thursday July 23rd
Enjoy a box dinner while listening to these wonderfully talented young musicians performing their summer concert.

REP East Players/ ROCK & ROLL Broadway                  Friday July 24th
The ever-talented Leslie Berra brings her musical styling and singers for one night only.  This special event is a ticketed event… proceeds support the festival and the SCSF’s educational outreach program.

A Night at the Opera                                                                   Friday July 31st
A magical evening of classic opera and classical broadway.  Presented in association with Center Stage Opera.

Once More unto the Breach            Saturday & Sunday August 8th & 9th         The premiere of this original cutting of Shakespeare’s musings on conflict, honor and bravery.  This production will also be touring regionally to senior centers and community centers

WEST COAST BLUESFEST                                                    Saturday August 1st
The only west coast celebration of International Blue Music Day. Presented in association with SCV Blues Society. Great Music, Great Food, Great Family Fun

Gospel Gumbo                                                                         Friday August 7th
Music of Faith Love and Grace.  In association members of our local faith community
