County officials are planning to close Lake Hughes Road in Castaic starting very early Friday morning due to a storm forecast.
The closure of Lake Hughes Road, from Elizabeth Lake Road to 4.6 miles south, is scheduled to start at 12:30 a.m. Friday, continuing until the storm system has passed and the roads have been inspected and reopened, according to a news release.
L.A. County Public Works made the decision based on the forecast of inclement weather and potential mud and debris flow events in the area of the 2013 Powerhouse Fire.
There is a 20 percent chance of rain on Thursday and it jumps to 90 percent on Friday, according to NBC Los Angeles. Friday’s forecast expects cloudiness with rain, and highs in the low 60s and lows in the upper 40s.
Residents, business owners and persons with access or functional needs may also call 2-1-1, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for LA County information and referral services regarding post-disaster resources that are available to those affected by the floods, debris, and mud flow.
