Last year, the State of California announced its goal to put 3.3 million Zero Emission Vehicles on the road by 2025. This includes battery-electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel-cell-electric vehicles.
The City of Santa Clarita is also doing its part to help meet this goal.
There are many alternative fuel vehicle resources in Santa Clarita. For example, drivers of electric vehicles can access the following local public charging stations:
* Valencia Hyatt – 24500 Town Center Drive
Free public access charger with two plugs located in parking garage and. available 24 hours a day.
* Kohl’s Santa Clarita – 19307 Golden Valley Road
Public access during business hours at no charge for Kohl’s customers. Non-shoppers can bring their radio frequency identification card (RFID) to use the charging station.
* Castaic Lake RV Park – 31540 Ridge Route Road
Public access for 30 and 40 amp circuits from 8 am – 8pm daily at $15 flat fee. Vehicle owner must bring their own charger.
A compressed natural gas fueling station is also open to the public at the City’s Transit Maintenance Facility, located at 28250 Constellation Road.
The City is also seeking grant funding opportunities to install additional public electric vehicle charging stations and alternative fueling stations throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.

A Tesla Supercharger station in the SCV would be nice too.
The mall has needed updated EV chargers for years now.
More and more of these cars will just mean higher gas taxes or a new tax somewhere to help pay for the roads
Like Julie said , we need an updated one at the mall. I wrote to them over a year ago when I got my car and they never responded . The one in the pic in canyon country is awesome !
Is that a joke ? Boasting that 2 free charging station locations is “doing it’s part” ???
Santa Clarita, a city that has the cajones to name itself Awesometown, has 2 available free charging stations in a city of 170,000 residents over an area of 62+ square miles ???
Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Burbank, and most progressive cities of substantially smaller population and physical size have many many more charging stations available to promote electric vehicle transportation…time for this city to really step up and get with the program, and stop pretending it is helping…
