Based on his outstanding performances last week in two consecutive victories over conference opponents, TMC’s Humphrey Mahowa has been named the GSAC’s Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Mahowa scored five goals last week as the Mustangs won both of their GSAC matches and moved into third place in the conference standings. The freshman forward scored two goals, including the game-winner, in TMC’s 4-3 win against William Jessup last Wednesday, and then notched a hat trick three days later to account for all of the Mustangs’ goals in the 3-0 victory over San Diego Christian.
In the eight games he has appeared in this season, Mahowa has posted a team-high 17 points on eight goals and one assist.
Notably, Mahowa is the first Mustang to earn the GSAC’s Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week since the conference started awarding this weekly honor in the fall of 2011.
Now, Mahowa and the Mustangs will look to extend their two-game winning streak when they travel to La Mirada on Tuesday for a 7:00 PM match against the Biola Eagles.
