Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a man on The Old Road for three outstanding warrants plus new drug, counterfeit money and suspected stolen property charges on Thursday night.
Here’s the story from the station’s social media:
“Deputies were conducting patrol checks in a parking lot on the 25400 block of The Old Road in Stevenson Ranch Thursday night due to concerns of vehicle burglaries when they spotted a man on a bicycle who appeared to be looking in the windows of cars.
“As deputies drove closer, the bicyclist spotted the deputies and attempted to escape from their view by riding in between vehicles. Deputies were soon able to catch up with him and they conducted a stop.
“The male adult in his 30s told deputies he had warrants. He was correct as deputies confirmed he had two $50K warrants for narcotics and a $35K warrant for trespassing.
“But, that’s not all the man had.
“Upon further inspection, deputies found he was in possession of items including multiple cell phones, tablets, counterfeit U.S. currency, heroin, methamphetamine and items consistent with narcotics sales.
“Deputies arrested the man on his warrants and several charges including narcotic sales, (possession of) counterfeit currency and reasonable cause of receiving stolen property.
“The suspect was transported and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley (Sheriff’s) Station’s jail.
“As the suspect was getting booked in at the station, deputies in the field communicated that they were taking a theft report for a victim whose RV was burglarized in a parking lot on The Old Road. One of the items reported stolen matched an item found to be in the suspect’s possession.
“Detectives will be continuing an investigation into this incident.
“The U.S. Secret Service was notified of the counterfeit currency recovered.”
