Newhall Tunnel

investigating-the-carSheriff’s Homicide Detectives are continuing their investigation into the death of a man on Golden Valley Road and Robert C Lee Parkway, Canyon Country.

Detectives have learned that, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a deputy from Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station was on routine patrol in the area and observed a blue Honda Accord illegally parked on the shoulder. The deputy stopped to conduct an investigation of the vehicle. During his investigation, the deputy conducted an inventory search of the vehicle, in preparation for a tow, and discovered a man deceased inside the vehicle.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.

The car will be towed to the coroner’s office where Sheriff’s crime lab personnel will process the vehicle and the body, said Lt. Steve Jauch of the Homicide Bureau.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

  2. Okay is SCV cursed now! Not saying we shouldn’t have crime, but it seems like every few days a dead body is in the news. RIP very sad news and prayers to everyone who has had a loss lately

  3. There’s this thing called The Internet, and it spreads news faster than you can believe. Add to that an incredibly increased population, and you get the appearance of more deaths than what people are used to. Then they start saying ridiculous things. Again.

  5. Steven Craig says:

People die every day in svc. Don’t jump to the conclusion that this was crime related. Maybe the person was having a medical issue and pulled over. Who knows.

  6. Steven Craig says:

Where in that story does it say he was in the trunk

It says the body was found in the trunk but then goes on to say the officer was doing an “interior search” of the car & found the body. Then it says they wouldn’t confirm whether or not the body was in the trunk.

Neither article states that the man found deceased was in the trunk. Signal says they can neither confirm nor deny it. But the picture shows them looking inside the vehicle and the trunk is not open. **Just Sayin’** I could be wrong just foing by the facts of what I see.
