Here are agenda highlights:

Plaque awarded to the Honorable Andreas Launer in commemoration to his appointment as the new Consul General of Austria in Los Angeles.

Finalists in the 40th Annual LA County Mock Trial program celebrated on their achievements.

The Hawes Family, Lockheed Martin and John Fergione recognized in honor of the Los Angeles County Air Show.

Internal Services Department’s Chief Deputy Director Dave Chittenden honored in recognition of his retirement and over 27 years of dedicated service to the County of Los Angeles.

Supervisor Ridley-Thomas authorizes the Executive Director of the Community Development Commission to accept the California State Emergency Solutions Grant allocation. (1-D)

The Community Development Commission recommends awarding three Job Order Contracts for a maximum amount not to exceed $4,600,000. (2-D)

Supervisor Hahn authorizes the County Librarian to execute documents and agreements related to County Library’s participation in the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ (IMLS) 2018 National Medal for Museum and Library Services. (Item 3)

Supervisor Solis recommends granting a Right-of-Entry Permit and executing a purchase and sale agreement for two parcels of land in the city of Pico River. (Item 7)

Supervisors Ridley-Thomas and Solis instruct the Director of the Office of Child Protection in collaboration with various county departments and any other relevant partners to report on a plan for dual status youth. (Item 8)

Supervisor Ridley-Thomas recommends sending a five-signature letter to the Los Angeles County Congressional Delegation respectfully requesting they oppose the Trump Administration’s proposed Federal Fiscal Year 2019 budget. (Item 9)

Authorize the Director of Consumer and Business Affairs to sign a non-financial Memorandum of Understanding with the United States Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to collaborate on a consumer education and awareness campaign. (Item 14)

Authorize the Director of Internal Services to award and execute Residential Property Assessed Clean Energy Program Providers master agreement. (Item 16)

Approve the proposed Capital Projects for the Department of Beaches and Harbors Restroom Refurbishment Projects (4) with a project scope and budget totaling $1,200,000. (Item 18)

Approve the Fair Chance Employment Policy that will require County contractors and subcontractors to certify compliance with fair chance employment hiring standards. (Item 19)

Authorize the Acting Director of Public Social Services to execute contracts for Domestic Violence Shelter-Based Program services for victims of domestic violence and their children residing in the County. (Item 24)

Authorize the Director of Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services to extend the subawards with existing subrecipients for a total combined estimated amount of $5,065,000 for all program services. (Item 25)

Authorize the Chief Deputy Director of Mental Health to amend a participation agreement with the California Mental Health Services Authority for the development of a media campaign for Access to Treatment. (Item 27)

Authorize the Director of Mental Health to execute Psychiatric Urgent Care Center/Crisis Stabilization Unit master agreements with organizations that are deemed qualified by the Department of Mental Health. (Item 29)

Approval of interim ordinance authority for 51 full-time permanent positions in the Department of Mental Health. (Item 30)

Authorize the Agricultural Commissioner/Director of Weights and Measures to execute an agreement with the State Department of Food and Agriculture in the amount of $5,369,237.75. (Item 33)

The Department of Regional Planning recommends considering the General Plan and Housing Element Progress Reports for 2017 which describe the implementation status of the County’s General Plan and Housing Element. (Item 34)

Authorize the Sheriff to execute an agreement with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to accept a grant in the amount of $350,000 for the Phase III Safety and Justice Challenge Grant Program. (Item 35)

The Claims Board recommends an approval to the Corrective Action Plan for a lawsuit alleging deliberate indifference to an inmate’s medical needs while he was incarcerated at Twin Towers Correctional Facility. (Item 37)
