The city of Santa Clarita and the American Red Cross are teaming up to host a Community Blood Drive on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 9:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. in the Century Room at City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard.
According to the American Red Cross, one blood donation can help save up to three lives. There is always a need for blood in the community and nationwide. National statistics from the American Red Cross show someone needs a unit of blood every two to three seconds.
Residents interested in signing up to donate blood at the Community Blood Drive should visit www.redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code ‘cityofsantaclarita’ when signing up. On donation day, participants should go directly to the Century Room on the first floor where they will be greeted and evaluated to ensure they are eligible to donate.
Save up to 15 minutes at the blood drive using RapidPass. RapidPass allows you to start the blood donation process before you get to the donation site. Visit www.redcrossblood.org/rapidpass for more information. All participants must have a valid ID to donate.
All Community Blood Drive donors will receive a small token of appreciation from the city of Santa Clarita, while supplies last.
