Los Angeles County Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger will deliver the keynote address at the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the County luncheon, set for the Hyatt Regency Valencia’s main ballroom on Wednesday, May 1, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Barger’s remarks will focus on land use, traffic, housing, infrastructure, mental health, homelessness, public safety, and the county budget.
Barger’s keynote address will also feature Q&A segments with guest speakers Amy Bodek, Director of the Department of Regional Planning; Mark Pestrella, Director of the Department of Public Works; Dr. Jonathan Sherin, Director of the Department of Mental Health; and Sachi Hamai, Chief Executive Officer.
The event will conclude with a special surprise presentation to honor a member of the community who works to serve the SCV.
The SCV Chamber has hosted the State of the County Luncheon for 11 years, and this will be Barger’s third address.
The Hyatt Regency Valencia is located at 24500 Town Center Drive, Valencia 91355.
