I want to personally wish you and your family a very happy holiday season. It’s hard to believe the year is nearly over – and here at City Hall, we are already looking at programs, projects and activities for the coming year.
On the horizon, we are looking forward to breaking ground for the long-awaited expansion of the Golden Valley Road bridge over SR-14 in January. The expansion project will add more traffic lanes and a dedicated bike path, helping ease congestion on the east side of town.
We are also looking forward to bringing two new parks on line next year, including the 5-acre River Village Park and the 6-acre Five Knolls Park. At Central park, we will soon be in design for a new Tennis Complex. We also have some great beautification projects planned that include low-water-use plant materials.
If you are interested in receiving emails from the city regarding specific projects or topic areas, I encourage you to sign up on eNotify at santa-clarita.com.
Finally, I hope you have an opportunity to visit Main Street this month. The city and our partners – PayForward, Henry Mayo Hospital and the SCV Auto Dealers Association – have created a winter wonderland with festive lights, holiday décor and a 23-foot Christmas tree in front of the Old Town Newhall Library.
