MiaHammWorld Cup and Olympic champions Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly and Tisha Venturini-Hoch will team up with the Santa Clarita Blue Heat professional women’s soccer club to conduct a three-day training camp in Santa Clarita this December.

Carlos Marroquin, owner of Santa Clarita Blue Heat women’s soccer club and Soccer Planet in Downtown Newhall, says it took him two years to convince Mia Hamm to commit to the Santa Clarita soccer camps.

“She only goes to one town in California per year,” Morroquin said, “so this is huge for our community.”

Every camper will receive a Nike Soccer Ball, Nike Camp T-shirt and autographed card by Mia, Kristine and Tisha, according to the Soccer Academy’s website. In addition, every camper will have the opportunity to take a picture and receive an autograph from Mia, Kristine and Tisha on the last day of camp.

The camp is being held Friday, Dec. 11 through Sunday, Dec. 13, is coed, and for players aged 7-18.

Registration has already begun, and there are 60 plus people already signed up.

On Friday, the camp will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. at Santa Clarita Central Park, located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91350.

On Saturday and Sunday, the camp will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at The Master’s College, located at 21726 Placerita Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91321.

About Mia Hamm

Mia Hamm is a former American soccer player who competed with the U.S. women’s national soccer team for 17 years. She won the Women’s World Cup in 1991 and 1999, and took Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2004.

About Kristine Lilly

Kristine Lilly is a retired American soccer player who last played professionally for Boston Breakers in Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS). She was a member of the United States women’s national soccer team for 24 years and is the most capped soccer player in the history of the sport (men’s or women’s) gaining her 352nd and final cap against Mexico in a World Cup qualifier in November 2010.

About Tisha Venturini-Hoch

Tisha Venturini-Hoch is a former American soccer player and current National Spokesperson for Produce for Better Health. She is a gold medalist in 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and a world champion in 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup held in the U.S.
