Update 2:28 p.m.:

Winds are subsiding but erratic. Small spot fire outside of the containment area.

The Sigalert on the northbound 14 Freeway is expected to be in effect until 3:30 p.m. The freeway is a great, big parking lot.

Update 1:45 p.m.:

Active flames have been knocked down. Total of 9 acres burned. Mop-up procedures starting.

Update 1:38 p.m.:

The fire is no longer making forward progress.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies are on scene, investigating the cause of the fire. That’s unusual; normally the Fire Department handles the investigation.

Update 1:34 p.m.:

Fire being held at 8 acres; full containment expected in 15 to 20 minutes.

Hand crews are trying to suppress the flames under the high-power lines.

Traffic is backed up to Shadow Pines and drivers are turning around illegally and going the wrong direction to exit. Collisions are expected.

Update 1:23 p.m.:

The California Highway Patrol is allowing traffic to use the northbound HOV lane.

The fire has consumed about 7 acres. It is burning under high-power  lines and Edison workers have been called in.

North 14 Closed for Brush Fire at Agua Dulce (12:43 p.m.)

Northbound lanes of State Route 14 are closed due to a brush fire burning along the east side of the freeway just south of Agua Dulce Canyon Road.

The fire was reported Sunday at 12:43 p.m. Vehicles were swerving to avoid the flames and smoke, so the lanes were shut and a Sigalert was issued.
