A unique Fall Festival that showcases food, interactive art and family entertainment while offering an opportunity to meet and learn from people with developmental disabilities will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the idyllic seven acre Tierra Del Sol Sunland campus, 9919 Sunland Blvd., Sunland.
Admission for adults is $5. Kids 12 and under are admitted free. Valet parking is available onsite or free parking is available at Shadow Hills Presbyterian Church, two blocks east of Tierra on Sunland Boulevard. Free shuttle bus service to the festival will be offered.
Live music, a barbecue, beer and wine, art, ceramics, an interactive farm experience, pumpkin patch, employment village, fun zone, games and more will be featured at Tierra Del Sol’s 14th Annual Fall Festival. Also, enter to win a week’s Hawaiian vacation on Maui and other fabulous prizes!
Guests can participate in art workshops and be mentored by Tierra’s award-winning artists, who prove that art knows no disabilities. Additionally, ceramics will be on sale from our traditional craft studio, “The Blvd”.
All proceeds will benefit Tierra Del Sol, a non-profit organization, that serves more than 670 adults daily with developmental disabilities such as autism and Down’s syndrome. For almost half a century Tierra has been empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to overcome cognitive, physical, emotional and behavioral challenges, helping them realize their greatest human potential. Through a variety of educational, work and volunteer opportunities, Tierra is helping these individuals discover their own unique talents and abilities and contribute to their families and communities.
Many of Tierra’s clients will be on hand to greet guests with a ready smile and will oversee the various attractions so visiting parents and their children can see firsthand how people with disabilities overcome their challenges to become productive members of our diverse society. JOIN US!
