In honor of October’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), the Santa Clarita Valley Mayor’s Committee for Employment of Individuals with Disabilities will hold a complimentary Continental Breakfast Oct. 17 from 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at AMS Fulfillment/Witherspoon Building
28624 Witherspoon Parkway.
NDEAM dates back to 1945 when Congress declared the first week in October as “National Employ the Physically Handicapped Week.”
This year’s theme is: “Inclusion Drives Innovation.”
We are celebrating with a Breakfast Meeting, Art Contest, & Book Signing
The Agenda will include:
• Welcome Honored Guests by Ken Wiseman, Chair
• A Mayor’s Committee update by Ken Wiseman
• A brief history of NDEAM by Vivian Kimoto of the DOR
• Display & Voting of Beautiful Art by disabled young people
• Our Featured Speaker – Tom Iland
