The City of Santa Clarita, along with Newhall Land, will host a dedication and ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of Santa Clarita’s 30th park, River Village Park, on Thursday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. at 26421 Riverrock Way.
River Village Park is located off of Newhall Ranch Road at the intersection of Santa Clarita Parkway and Riverrock Way, encompassing approximately 25 acres of open space in the new River Village community. The five-acre developed park site features a themed play area, group picnic shelters, a trailhead, perimeter walkway and restroom facilities.
“We are very excited to partner with Newhall Land to open Santa Clarita’s 30th park,” said Mayor Marsha McLean. “River Village Park will offer a gorgeous new space for residents to take their children to play, as well as a new trailhead with convenient connections to hiking and biking trails.”
The park’s new trailhead connects with Central Park via the Santa Clara River Trail. The trailhead includes a bike rack, drinking fountain, and trail map to help residents easily access local trails and the short connection to Central Park.
The ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony for River Village Park is free and open to the public. To RSVP, please contact Jessica Thompson at (661) 255-4939 or jethompson@santa-clarita.com.

That’s great. I’ve ridden my bike near there and it looks like a very nice park.

It’s beautiful. Can’t wait. My son, who is now 15 wrote letter to the editor a few years ago wondering when the park would be built (it was published). Now we have great view!

The upside down pic is a nice touch.
30 parks and no Arts Center…interesting!
There should be a balance like in life.
Balance? The park is built atop a prehistoric seasonal Indian village, and still no Native American Center. :)
