The Master’s College women’s cross country and track programs have signed Morgan Pedrick of Valencia to compete during the 2013-14 campaign.

Pedrick, a recent graduate of Hart High School in Newhall, California, enters with an impressive resume that includes being a captain for the Indians’ cross country and track programs.  Pedrick was also a recipient of Hart’s “Ruge” award, an accolade that recognizes an athlete’s outstanding leadership.

Commenting on why she chose The Master’s College, Pedrick said “I’m looking forward to grow in my faith and learn more about the Bible.  I’m also looking forward to being a part of the team and its atmosphere.  My family has a heritage here at The Master’s College, and I’m excited to continue that.

With plans to major in Communication, the new recruit’s collegiate goals are to be the best runner she can be, reach her full potential, and help win a conference title for the Lady Mustangs.

Head coach Zach Schroeder believes those goals are achievable and that Pedrick will be an immediate competitor for TMC.

“We always look for athletes who have a heart for the church and reaching out to the lost,” said coach Schroeder.  “Of course we want to compete and Pedrick, but we want to live out Christianity both on and off the course, and that’s who Morgan is.  She was a president of the Christian Club at Hart and is a person who can contribute to the life of the team and invest in her teammates.”

The Lady Mustang cross country and track programs manufactured strong marks in 2012-13, producing two NAIA cross country All-American (Hannah Kellerman and Karis Frankian) and three NAIA track All-American (Frankian, Kellerman, and Ayla Draper).

The Lady Mustangs look to a fruitful 2013-14 season as they have not graduated any talent, but have signed four strong competitors.
