Providence Holy Cross Medical Center has extended its partnership with the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center (PAC) at College of the Canyons to provide continued sponsorship and support of the PAC’s ongoing K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program.
On Monday, representatives from Providence Holy Cross Medical Center presented the PAC K-12 Arts Education Outreach program with a $10,000 donation, right before more than 700 local elementary school students enjoyed a performance of the show “TAO: The Art of the Drum.”
Participants in the check presentation ceremony were (pictured above) Rita Garasi, Advisory Chair of the PAC K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program; Jeri Seratti-Goldman, Co-owner KHTS AM 1220; Jill Mellady, Board Chair, COC Foundation; Natasha Shows, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center; Brigette Loden, Vice President, Development & Capital Campaigns, Providence Health & Services Foundation; Larry Bowe, Chief Executive, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center; and Dr. Barry Gribbons, COC Assistant Superintendent/Vice President, Institutional Development.
The PAC K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program uses the college’s cultural and community resources to provide SCV students an opportunity to benefit from top-tier visual and performing arts (VAPA) curriculum and learning opportunities.
Since its inception the K-12 Arts Outreach Program has taken a collaborative approach, with PAC organizers partnering with teachers and administrators in school districts throughout the SCV in order to reach as many students as possible. As a result, the program continues to provide arts-infused curriculum and unique educational opportunities for students throughout the SCV.
