The search for the next superintendent of the Saugus Union School District will begin Thursday at a special meeting of the school board.
The move comes on the heels of Superintendent Joan Lucid’s announcement of her retirement, which will be effective June 29. Lucid has spent 37 years with the school district.
The school board is expected to hire McPherson & Jacobson LLC to “provide assistance with the planning phase, recruiting, selection and appointment of a new superintendent,” the agenda states. “Total fee for contracted services $17,000. Not to exceed amount (fee and expenses) $24,450.”
The board will meet in closed session at 6:30 p.m., with the public meeting following at 7 p.m.
