substantially more truck trips and air pollution to our Valley. Much of the trash is coming from outside Santa Clarita, but our Valley will bear the impacts. Many residents of the immediately adjacent community of Val Verde believe their health has been affected by leaking landfill gases. In a 1997 agreement made between the community and Newhall Land and Farming, they were promised that the landfill would be closed in 2019. Instead this massive expansion is proposed. Visit the

What about the Cemex Soledad Canyon Mega-Mine and the California High-Speed Boondoggle?
So Lynn is trying to imply that this landfill will be expanding into Elysian Park?
I mean I am not thrilled with the landfill expansion, I think we are being treated with total disdain, but Lynn using falsehoods is no better.
More often than not, the work of environmental activists does not result in a development or a plan being shut down but instead improved so that all parties win in the end. Thanks for watching out for us Lynne Plambeck
Often, yes, but this is a case where the county allowed the landfill to expand in 1997 on the CONDITION that it WILL close in 2019. Now the landfill is trying to persuade the county to change its mind retroactively. So there’s nothing to “improve” in this instance. It’s more about honor.
Thank you SCOPE for not turning a blind eye to all that is happening here in our valley. Many of these issue can use both – improvement and honor as they happen to be lacking in both.
