The Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry is requesting donations from the community so the nonprofit can continue providing sustenance to local seniors and others in need.
Here’s a note from Jason Schaff, the Pantry’s president:
We are blessed to live in the Santa Clarita Valley. But not all of our neighbors feel blessed.
Imagine having to look into the eyes of a child and telling them they will have nothing to eat tonight. This would be heart-breaking.
And this is why we work so hard to provide groceries, milk and fresh meat and produce to our neighbors in need.
Each day the SCV Food Pantry is open we serve about 50 families and on a monthly basis we are performing outreach to more than 120 seniors. This supplemental food helps to remove the need to choose between buying food, paying rent or getting medicines.
Since 1986 we have counted on our volunteers and the Santa Clarita community to make sure that children, families and seniors have food. Because no one should go hungry. Not just during the holidays but all year long.
As we approach the end of 2017 we are asking for your continued assistance. Your one-time or monthly donations allow the SCV Food Pantry to keep its doors open and to have the flexibility to purchase fresh food that may not have been donated.
Whatever you can do to help on a one time or monthly basis is always appreciated! All donations are tax-deductible.
We thank you in advance for partnering with us in serving our neighbors in need.
