The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society will host several events on Friday, April 17 through Saturday, April 19, 2015 at Heritage Junction as part of the 22nd Annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, presented by Logix Federal Credit Union. The festival events include “Friday Night Flickers,” Dinner and a Show with Marie Wise-Hawkins, and the Buckaroo Book Shop.
On Friday, April 17, “Friday Night Flickers” at Heritage Junction will feature the 1954 film Suddenly, starring Frank Sinatra from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The movie was filmed entirely on location in Old Town Newhall and Saugus in 1953. Tickets are on sale for $10 and include popcorn. Parking will be provided free of charge at the Cowboy Festival Shuttle Site.
On Saturday, April 18, Heritage Junction will swing with the Western and Country music of Marie Wise-Hawkins from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society offers an evening of tasty BBQ catered by Salt Creek Grille and a live show from Nashville’s Country Showdown finalist Wise-Hawkins. Tickets are on sale now for $45.00 at CowboyFestival.org.
OutWest Boutique and Cultural Center, along with the Santa Clarita Historical Society, will host the Buckaroo Book Shop at the Cowboy Festival, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 in the Pardee House at Heritage Junction. Western authors, poets, songwriters and storytellers will discuss their work in engaging panels.
