[KHTS] – The Hart girls volleyball team swept Saugus in three games and remained undefeated in the Foothill League.
The Hart girls improved to 8-0 in league and 18-1 overall.
Brooke Boron had seven kills and three blocks for Hart. Erin Indermill had 26 assists and 10 digs.
The Valencia girls swept Golden Valley in three games. The Vikings are game behind Hart in the Foothill League standings at 7-1. They are 19-5 overall.
Lindsey Knudsen had 13 kills and nine digs for Valencia.
The West Ranch girls beat Canyon in three games and won their second league match of the season.
West Ranch improved to 2-6 in league. Canyon dropped to 3-5.
Hannah Williams had a match-high 12 kills for West Ranch. Hunter Zeleznek had 19 digs.
In college soccer, the College of the Canyons beat Moorpark, 2-1. Andy Ruiz scored both goals for COC. His first was in the 52nd minute. He scored again in the 62nd minute.
The Cougars improved to 8-2-5 overall and 6-1-5 in the Western State Conference.
In the major leagues, the Giants beat the Royals, 3-2, and won the World Series. Madison Bumgarner pitched five innings of shutout relief. He won Games 1 and 5 and earned the save in Game 7.
The Giants have won three of the past five World Series championships.
In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Phoenix Suns, 119-99. The Lakers lost their second game of the season. Kobe Bryant scored 31 points in the loss.
In the NHL, the Kings are in Pittsburgh for a game against the Penguins tonight. It is the second game of a five-game road trip.
The Kings lost to the Flyers, 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday.
