1842 - California's first mining district established in SCV; Ygnacio del Valle, chairman [story]

A new opportunity awaits active adult homebuyers in California’s Santa Clarita, where sales are underway at Verano. Verano is the latest neighborhood of Aliento, Pardee Homes’ master-planned community in the Golden Valley area of Santa Clarita.

Interested 55+ home shoppers can speak to a Pardee representative by calling 661-425-0095. Registration on Verano’s interest list and more information are also available at www.alientoliving.com.

“Verano’s striking homes are designed for enjoyable, low maintenance living, and allow buyers to choose plan sizes and layouts suited to their particular preferences,” said Lyndsay Fuller, Director of Sales and Marketing for Pardee Homes Los Angeles Ventura division. “Neighborhood and community amenities enhance a unique opportunity for 55+ buyers–the chance to own a new, single-family detached home in the multi-generational community of Aliento.”

Verano’s three single-level designs are priced from the $500,000s, and provide approximately 1,617 to 1,686 square feet of living space, with 2 to 4 bedrooms and 2 to 4 baths, plus a 2-bay garage. Each design features an optional loft level.

With these optional second floors, the homes’ total square footages expand to approximately 2,063 to 2,470 square feet. Per plan configurations for second levels allow for guest and junior master suites, bonus rooms, home offices and optional attic space for extra storage.

From a gated entry within Aliento, Verano opens to The Club at Verano, created exclusively for Verano residents and their guests. It features a resort-style pool, spa and fitness center. Private wine lockers, a social bar, bocce ball courts and a vertical community garden, meeting rooms and Wifi stations highlight the club’s additional amenities.

Verano residents can also tap the many amenities at The Terrace Club, which also serves Aliento’s first three neighborhoods of Arista by Pardee Homes, and Lucero and Tierno by TRI Pointe Homes. The Terrace features enclosed fitness facilities, gathering spaces, equipped kitchen, adult and children’s pools, entertainment areas, outdoor barbecue grills and event and play lawns.

Overlooking Santa Clarita’s Golden Valley, Aliento is situated in a striking, elevated setting, framed by surrounding ridgelines and the Angeles National Forest. Highlighting the new community is preserved open space that offers private parks and connections to an extensive network of surrounding trails.

Aliento offers exceptional convenience, with short drives on local streets connecting residents to nearby shopping, dining, banking, fitness centers and theaters. Easy access to freeways and Metrolink add connectivity to work centers, and to additional retail and entertainment choices in Santa Clarita and the greater LA area.

A member of the TRI Pointe Group of regional homebuilders, Pardee Homes originated in 1921 in Los Angeles, and maintains regional operations in Los Angeles/Ventura, the Inland Empire, San Diego and Nevada. The company is noted for green building leadership, safe building practices and civic outreach.

Well, lets see…has anyone yet seen where these bungalows are being built? Could it be that they are the obvious hillside scars going up behind and north/south of Fair Oaks?

If so, that means they are being built where the last big fire (most recent but surely not the last)was above the “mall” at Golden Valley Road? How big will the non-flammable open space be between the housing for our parents, grandparents and other loved ones? Sure, there’s a new Fire Station right behind the mall, but I saw just how close the flames came to those houses/plots/new neighborhoods. And then sped west from the Freeway and charred a whole bunch of acres, as well as a few outbuildings of the existing properties there.

“Choose wisely”, as the Grail Knight said to Indiana Jones.

How is a senior going to “buy down” and retire at those prices? Build something much smaller and have it in the 300,000

  4. J. Marten says:

Most are trying to sell 500,000 to 600,000 houses and buy down and save 200,000 to supplement social security.

  5. J. Marten says:

“Priced from the 500,00’s” usually means
590,000 and up. We need in the mid to high 300,000
