Sadd Candy, a company founded by local community residents, have announced plans to open a “First-Class Drug Free Teen Outreach Lounge” in Santa Clarita. They are currently looking at two locations, one in Saugus and one across from the Valencia Mall. The intended grand opening date is May 1, 2015 with a preview opening schedule for April.
The Lounge will cater to teens in 9th-12th grade and will require a current ID from one of the 7 local high schools in the Santa Clarita Valley. The lounge will offer students a drug free and safe place for students to come hang out with friends, catch up on homework, meet new friends, and to showcase their talents. The lounge will feature a concession-style assortment of food, computer stations, iTunes Listening Center, Multiple TVs and will host private events, movie nights, dance parties, Sweet 16 parties, school-related banquets, talent showcases and more. Sadd Candy Lounge will close at 7pm Sunday-Thursday and 10pm on Friday, Saturday, and Holidays.
Sadd Candy Lounge will be equipped with security on site and will be dedicated to maintaining a drug free center by checking guests as they come in, keeping an up to date student member event log, and by making sure that security is watchful of anyone looking as if they have used or are looking to use drugs in the facility.
Sadd Candy has just launched a 30 day campaign on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. More information can be found at http://igg.me/at/saddcandy/x/9888267 as well as through their website www.saddcandyscv.com.

Sounds amazing! Would be great place to keep kids out of trouble.
Or for kids to get in trouble
Sounds great!!!
Does anyone know why it is going to be called Sadd Candy? I’m assuming Sadd is an acronym?
Students Against Drunk Driving?
The name is…interesting.
I have a vague memory of a similar place that used to be in Saugus, maybe in that center near Telly’s about 15 or so years ago. I don’t think it lasted very long.
I remember that! I want to say it was called Nicole’s but I could be way off. But I remember that location lol
I assume SADD is Students Against Drunk Driving.
The name is super unfortunate, even if it is a nod to SADD.
This is a great idea. I wish I had that when I was growing up in SCV.
wish we had this!!
Will never happen. This valley has its head to far up its ass. I mean really, they wont even give a license to open a “real” night club. Think they will give teens a reason to be out late at night. Haha, right.
Chill mr negative o

Garrett Clark. Night owl. :’)
I wish them best of luck. For years the community has attempted hang out clubs and failed for a variety of reasons.
I don’t understand why they would limit the customer base to only 7 high schools though. I quick google search shows there are 24 schools in the valley that offer 12th grade.

Creating an environment that does not attract an unwanted element is challenging and I hope that this group can do that.
